SOCIAL FABRIC

An Exhibition by
Eliza Squibb

February 6-March 14, 2026

Opening:
February 6, 6-8pm,
Artist's talk at 7pm

Textile designer Eliza Squibb brings her patterns for global health and wellness to A|R|T Lab as we explore artists’ processes and practices to integrate and expand our knowledge.

Eliza will share art, co-design processes, and stories from a decade of exploring visual design as a communication tool to destigmatize health topics, break down barriers to care, and make health information accessible, shareable, and a part of the fabric of everyday life. From Bamako to Providence, the fight for respectful and accessible healthcare is universal.

The Artist

Eliza-Squibb-headshot

Eliza Squibb

Interdisciplinary artist Eliza Squibb creates textile patterns to bridge the worlds of art and science: collaborating with healthcare providers, artists, and artisans to communicate health information for populations with low literacy or language barriers that prevent equitable healthcare access. Eliza’s collaborations have been grant-funded, including two Grand Challenge Exploration grants from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and her designs have been used in health campaigns to promote reproductive and infant health. Eliza is part-time faculty at the Rhode Island School of Design and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. When not in the studio or in the classroom, Eliza can be found canoeing on Rhode Island’s many rivers and marshes.
