Why Donate & Ways to Give

Why Support The Womxn Project Education Fund?

Thanks to you, The Womxn Project Education Fund (TWPEF) is taking a stand in your community. We are building momentum and using creativity and joy to fight discrimination, ignorance, and fear. TWPEF works across the state of Rhode Island, so your donations support bodily freedom and civic education in all 39 cities and towns in the state. Rhode Island is ready for bodily freedom, but we have a lot of work to do.

HOW WE’RE ADVANCING RIGHTS RHODE ISLAND
We imagined a refuge for artists and activists driving change, and this year, your support helped launch our new A|R|T Lab. Now imagine the power of 200 new activists fighting for democracy and bodily freedom—we’re training them here, and art is the center of all of our efforts.

Here’s our Plan:

  • Artivism: In 2026, your gift will help art activists build even BIGGER and LOUDER—bringing awareness to abortion rights, medical access, voting rights, LGBTQ+ discrimination, and government transparency.
  • Activist Training: In times that seem hopeless, artivists are a beacon, and your support will enable them to shine safely, unapologetically, and with excitement. The A|R|T Lab will be spreading skills and education by hosting exhibitions, lectures, and classes by subversive and impactful artists.
  • Civic Education: Knowledge is power. When you know how your government works, you then can impact it more successfully. We are building teaching tools and collaborating with educators to demystify the political process at every level.

Become a Sustainer

Sustainers are individuals who give on a recurring basis, which provides the stability TWPEF needs to keep our programs moving forward. Sustaining donations are right for any budget – you can select any amount and choose the frequency of your donation (monthly, quarterly, or annually.)

Sustainers are the backbone of our organization – start making your recurring donation here.

Become a Business Sponsor

Annual Sponsors are the business whose annual gifts keep the doors of the A|R|T Lab open, and a sponsorship of our building reaches hundreds of people through our classes, social media, and at event meet-ups, increasing your visibility statewide!

Can't commit to an annual gift? All of our events have associated costs, and sponsoring an event is a great way to support TWPEF’s cause while promoting your business. Event sponsors can give cash, volunteer a venue, or provide food and drink. All business sponsors are recognized on our website, on social media, and at the event itself.

For more information about becoming an annual or one-time business sponsor, contact Jenn King at jenn@thewomxnproject.org.

Make Charitable Distribution from Your IRA

Save on taxes by supporting TWPEF through your IRA!

If you are 70 ½ years old or older, you can give up to $108,000 this year directly from your IRA to a qualified charity without having to pay income taxes on the money. This gift is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover or a qualified charitable distribution (QCD), and allows you to see your impact right away as well as satisfy minimum distribution requirements. A QCD may even help lower your Medicare premiums!  To qualify, the gift must be made directly from your IRA to The Womxn Project Education Fund, and must clear your account by December 31 to be counted towards the current year’s taxes.

For more information, contact Jenn King at jenn@thewomxnproject.org.

Give with Donor Advised Funds

A Donor Advised Fund is similar to a charitable savings account- you can recommend a grant now or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts. You can even name TWPEF as the beneficiary of some or all of the fund. Giving through a Donor Advised Fund can provide you with favorable tax benefits and the flexibility to support The Womxn Project Education Fund's work when it’s convenient for you.

We encourage you to consult with your financial or tax advisor to determine whether giving through a Donor Advised Fund is right for you. If needed by your Fund Administrator to process your gift, The Womxn Project Education Funds’ identification number (EIN) is: 84-4357887.

Be sure to let us know when you want to make a stock donation so we can accurately record the gift on your behalf.

Leave a Legacy Gift

Would you like to continue protecting bodily freedom beyond your lifetime? By designating TWPEF as a beneficiary in your will or life insurance policy, you can lower estate taxes for your heirs while leaving an impactful legacy. A legacy gift to TWPEF is a promise to future generations of Rhode Islanders that they will inherit a more creative, collaborative, and civically educated state.

Please contact your attorney, accountant, financial planner, or insurance representative to find out how you can include The Womxn Project Education Fund in your estate plans.

Get Political
As a 501(c)(3) organization, The Womxn Project Education Fund is subject to limitations on lobbying efforts, including grassroots lobbying. If you want your donations to go directly to changing laws in Rhode Island, we encourage you to check out our sibling organization, The Womxn Project, which is a 501(c)(4) organization focused on lobbying and policy change. TWPEF and TWP operate separately but often collaborate to drive systemic change in Rhode Island.

As The Womxn Project is 501(c)(4) organization, donations they receive are not tax deductible.
